I just got off the phone with a guy who claims to be Alex Diaz, the owner of RC Towing. I called because my son was towed from an apartment associated with USF. It was 11pm at night and he parked in the front of the building to unload his stuff. He wasn't even in the space for 10 minutes! After his last load, he came down to move his car to the visitor parking and his car was already gone!! Initially, the first thought was that someone stole the car because it happened so fast! Then someone told my son that RC Towing likes to tow cars from the area. I called to see if in fact the car was towed. Alex Diaz was very forth coming and admitted that he makes very good money ("$15,000 a month") off of the college students by towing cars. Alex Diaz told me straight out that he was "blessed" with the opportunity to take advantage of the students "parents" that pay their way through college and that he has a tow truck in the area 24/7 looking for cars with out stickers on them to tow. Alex Diaz even went on to say that he towed "20" cars from there on Mother's day alone!! I am appalled by this company and I think that taking advantage of kids is reprehensible! Alex Diaz should be ashamed of himself!! He was very proud of himself and told me he has been" taking advantage" of people for 20 years! He also told me that my towing price was going to be "double" because I called him while he was trying to watch "Leno" and that he could do "whatever he wants because he's blessed" Enough said...this company needs to be put out of business!! Mr. Alex Diaz you need to be held accountable for your unethical business practices!!
