So last night I went to a concert at the Rave. When we first got there, there was parking guy offering parking in a parking lot on W Michigan St & N 23rd St for $20 dollars. It was $5 cheaper than most of the parking so we decided to park there along with many others. He gave us a sticker to put in the window and we were on our way. After the concert we followed my gps back to where my car was parked but it was no where to be found. I immediately notice a sign reading "NO RAVE PARKING; UNAUTHORIZED VEHICLES WILL BE TOWED" that had not been there before. A woman who lived near by informed us that it was illegal be parked there without a permit and that multiple cars had been towed throughout the night. Apparently everyone in the area knows the guy who was charging people for parking, knows that he's not supposed to be doing it, but just let it happen and let the cars get towed. I called the City of Milwaukee Tow Lot last night and this morning to be informed that my car had not been reported as towed. At this point I was worried it might have been stolen. Finally my mom asked a family friend who works for the Milwaukee Police for her advice. She told us about a private Tow Lot called Always Towing, that has been know for scamming people this way. We called Always Towing and found out that my car was there and I would be charged $348.48 to get it out. I was charged $150 for the Tow Fee, a $25 Storage Fee (even though they towed my car at 11pm and they close at 5 so it was literally impossible to get it out before that Fee was added), a Municipal Recording Fee of $30 (even though my car was not reported as towed) and a $125 Special Equipment Fee for the expensive equipment they use to tow innocent people's cars that they bought with the money the scammed these people of. The man working at Always Towing notified us that he also knew the man who illegal sells parking and that "everyone" knows him but no one stops it. We were also told that at least 12 cars were towed from that lot to Always Towing last night. To top it all off, when I called the Police about this incident I was told there was nothing they could do about it. I understand that they are busy with other, more serious issues but there are defiantly things they could do about it. We know the address of where the guy was, what he looked like, and during what events he does it; There are cameras and neighbors near by. This man and Always Towing are huge scammers, liars, and thieves. So now myself and many other Rave Go-ers are out $368.48 for no good reason while they're making at least $4,421.76 (assuming everyone paid the same amount for they're car to be released). If anyone knows any information about this or a similar situation please let me know. Also, be careful if you are going to The Rave or are in that area, DO NOT PARK HERE BECAUSE IT SEEMS TO BE A DEAL. YOU ARE BETTER OFF PAYING THE EXTRA $5. This is something I posted a couple days ago. No one is doing anything about so in just trying to get the news out. Thank you for your time.
